The 2nd Generation Climate Fresk resources for general public workshops are now available in the Resources tab of your Facilitator Space in English and French. Feel free to explore, make them your own as a Fresker, and start using them to facilitate and train for your upcoming sessions.Β

Make public workshops more engaging and action-oriented, addressing a common critique that they can be "too heavy /depressing" or that there isn't "enough of a focus on action".
To encourage and support white belts to take action β currently only one-third facilitate their first Fresk and progress to yellow belt.
The workshop hasnβt changed significantly since 2018, while the world definitely has!
To enable experienced Freskers to adapt the workshop more effectively across diverse contexts and audiences β especially in countries where growth of the project is plateauing.
Keep the workshopβs strengths while integrating real-life Fresker experience and insights from social science research into a strong, clear, and transformative pedagogical framework.
Support and reassure newer Freskers while giving more (adaptation) freedom to experienced facilitators.
Facilitate a more effective international rollout with a consistent and quality set of tools.
Ensure all white belts are well trained (via MOOC and in-person facilitation training) and are well integrated into the project (welcome guide).
Support white and yellow belts to confidently facilitate their first workshops (general public facilitation support).
Help orange belts and above master the workshop and adapt it mindfully and coherently depending on audience and context.
Support green and blue belts deliver high quality facilitation trainings (training guide, materials, facilitation frameworks).
Each year, some or all resources will be updated based on your feedback, balancing continuous improvement with stability.
Weβll soon share a calendar showing when suggestions from the community will be reviewed by the Innovation, Pedagogy and Impact team as part of the yearly 2G update cycle.
The May 2025 version of the 2nd-Generation workshop resources is the result of:
Over 100 contributors (excluding the salaried team)
Several hundred hours of work from staff members
Pedagogical monitoring and collaboration with the ecosystem (e.g. partner Fresks/collages, Parlons Climat)
Analysis of various facilitation practices across the community
Exchanges with researchers
Hundreds of feedback contributions gathered during the BETA-TEST phase (from December 2024), via the form in the Facilitator Space and in Telegram group discussions
