The Fresk Quiz is a communication tool that can be used at a wide variety of events, such as festivals, fairs, public markets, community gatherings, etc.
It consists of a large banner stretched over a metal frame and it's a powerful tool to catch the attention of passers-by, giving them the opportunity to discover Climate Fresk and the 3-hour workshop.
All good things must come to an end and today, we celebrate the conclusion of the Climate Fresk Quiz project: a global success story, it has to be said!
Here’s some key figures from the project:
55 quizzes were financed by the association for international use, spanning 27 different countries around the world
The Fresk Quiz was translated into 17 languages and adapted to 45 country-specific versions (a combination of languages and personalised QR codes)
The Quiz files are now available to all facilitators and coordinators who may wish to print them independently. You can access them via this shared folder.
The Fresk Quiz has been a fantastic tool for reaching new audiences at a whole host of different events, promoting and reinforcing the key messages of the Climate Fresk workshop. While this marks the end of the association-funded phase of the project, we encourage you to continue using the Quiz to amplify your impact locally. Given the cost of printing a Quiz, you may need to raise funds by crowdfunding in your community or by seeking out a corporate or public sponsor. But, as always, don’t hesitate to ask your International Coordinator for help!
An enormous thank you goes out to all of you who helped make this project such a success: you, the CCs who coordinated and rolled out the Quiz in your country; the Freskers who helped you facilitate the Quiz; and to Soliane from the team who coordinated the project from top to bottom.
You can access the full folder of Quiz photos and videos here.
All the Quiz printing files are now ready to be sent to your favourite printer! 🎉
You can find them all in this folder. Please remember that they are unique for each country, as each version has a different QR-code to showcase solely the upcoming sessions in said country (and online ones if needed). 'For-all' versions, on which the QR-code redirects to the full list of upcoming workshops, are also available in French and in English.
As the Quiz displays Climate Fresk’s official logo and social media, please remember that you are an ambassador for the association every time you roll it out!
As such, we trust you to use it wisely and ensure that:
You use it in accordance with the association’s values and purpose, paying attention to the type and theme of events you’ll be attending, potential interactions at your stand, how it is treated, etc.
You make it explicit that the Quiz is just a teaser and that it does not replace the full-length workshop (which you should strongly encourage players to sign up to!)
Following a poll sent to all CCs just before summer 2023, the international mobilisation team developed a distribution plan to equip the communties who requested a Fresk Quiz. It sought to arbitrate fairly between the needs of various countries whilst accouting for the NGO's financial capabilities.
Since then, numerous updated versions of the Quiz have been produced. They have been adjusted for our new graphic charter and are unique for each country (language, QR Code, social media tag, etc.). A 'For-all-countries' version is also available in French and in English.
If you haven't answered the poll, please note that the 2023 and 2024 producing / financing campaigns are now closed. If you would like to obtaon a Quiz, please get in touch with your international coordinator so that we can take it into account for susbequent campaigns.
If you have been informed by email that your Quiz files are ready, please unfold the next section!
As of October 2024, all the Quiz files that were asked for are now ready to be printed! If this relates to you, here are the next steps to get your Quiz up and running for all of your upcoming events. Please note that all reimbursement requests are to be sent to the permanent team before mid-November at the latest! 🚨
You can find your country’s specially-tailored files in the dedicated folder of this Drive. They’re ready to be sent to your favourite printer!
You can now send the files alongside the instructions to the printer you’ve identified so that it can give you an up-to-date quotation if needed.
If your quotation hasn’t changed from the one you presented to us a few months ago, which we approved, you can proceed with the printing.
If you haven’t sent any quotation yet, or if the current price is significantly different from the first estimate, please check with us before going to print by sending us the up-to-date quotation(s) to soliane.picard@fresqueduclimat.org.
If you were allocated several banners to cover your country’s territory, you can either print them all in one batch and distribute them afterwards or forward these instructions, the printing guidelines, and the files to your Local Coordinator(s) or trustworthy facilitator(s) who will be in charge of the Quiz locally. They can then get in touch with professionals.
If you do so, please make sure we’re notified of this person(s)’s name and role so that we can reimburse the accordingly.
Once we've approved your quotation, the serious business can begin! 😎
Printers in your region may have difficulties handling this particular format however. Here are our tips to deal with the situation!
First option. Inquire if other facilitators from your community can access an appropriate printing service in their area; they may live in a bigger city for instance.
Alternatively, see how close to the originial format your printer can print the files and allow for some flexibility. In this regard, proposals for other printing settings are welcome as long as it respects the global design, doesn’t distort the file proportions or change the colours, logo and / or content. If the proposed substitute is made from a single piece, please ask soliane.picard@fresqueduclimat.org for the files without the red construction lines so that they don't appear in the final banner!
Similarly, some printers might be able to produce the banner but not to furnish the holding metallic structure. Do not hesitate to get in touch with various suppliers if needed, and forward us the multiple quotations if applicable.
If you have any doubts on what might be okay, do not hesitate to ask us for guidance at soliane.picard@fresqueduclimat.org. And if you still can’t manage to find anyone to realise your Quiz in spite of these tips, please let us know so we can search alternative options.
As for the payment, two options are available:
Do you want to pay for the printing services yourself and get reimbursed later? Please make sure to get an invoice (in English or French if possible) mentioning both your name and that of Climate Fresk, and to complete this form.
Would you prefer us to pay the printing service directly? We can do that too! Please check the invoice requirement & submit it through this other form, and notify us by email.
In both cases, we’ll be particularly attentive to validate and pay / reimburse the expenses as rapidly as possible!
🚨 Please note that all reimbursement requests are to be sent to the permanent team before mid-November at the latest! 🚨
We're sure you already have plenty of opportunities in mind for proudly rolling out your shiny new Quiz. So when you do so, please make sure to take pictures and send them to us! We want to see the Quizzes finally becoming a reality! Thank you.
We’ll progressively update the translations of the Quiz Facilitation Guide in this Drive folder, so you can pass them on to the facilitators in your community. In the meantime, here are some easy steps to get you started!
Make sure to adapt them to your version of the Quiz (31 cards or Set 1 only) and your audience. A classic Quiz facilitation lasts around 15 minutes.
To start the Quiz, catch people's attention by asking an open question about the causes of climate change: “Why is the temperature on earth rising?”. Let people express their ideas, and as soon as they mention something, place the corresponding card on the banner. Do not show them all the cards!
You can also challenge them with question such as "Do you know about climate change? If so, can you prove it?" or "Do you want to try to guess as many cards as possible in 3 min?", and then put a timer on.
Once you've captivated your audience, you can detail the Quiz cards as well as the cause and consequence relationships between them. You can also talk about Climate Fresk as an organisation and explain our goal and values.
Make clear that the Quiz is just a teaser, and that the full workshop will give them the opportunity to discover all the cards and to understand climate change’s mechanisms in a much deeper way. You can also describe how a classic workshop would unfold, making sure to emphasise its interactive and collaborative components.
If the public is already well informed, present them the opportunity to become a facilitator after their first workshop, and what it brings (skills, sense of belonging to an amazing community, ways to act reagrding the climate emergency, etc.). Display your passion and enthousiasm for the project!
Once the Quiz is printed, you and your community are responsible for its use, storage and maintenance. Here are a few guidelines to help you!
We kindly remind you that this material is dedicated for volunteer use only. If you would like to use it regularly for your pro activities, you must print your own banner.
The Quiz is a tool for your entire community. As so, every trustful Fresker might use it in accordance with its availability and location. You're free to organise its use as you see fit, yet we encourage you to keep track of the users and requests to ensure a smooth management of the material. To help you, you can find here the template file designed by a French coordinator to manage their Quizes and their uses.
To complete the previous point, you might delegate and / or share the management and storage of the material with members of your community.
Do not hesitate to make the Quiz your own! For instance, some local coordinators in France identify their banners with various wild animal names (wolf, fox, bear, etc.), which eases logistics by making them recognisable and gives them a familiar, cute vibe.
Depending on your printer’s materials and possible subcontractors, the banner and the structure might be fragile. We encourage you to take great care of your own Quiz!
For now, we ask you to not share these files with your whole community (except for Local Coordinators that may print it on your behalf), or with other organisations. This will come during a second phase, alongside the update of the dedicated page of the facilitator space. This page will sum up all the guidelines on the use of the Quiz in a professional context.
